Diamond Query: Can Two Diamonds with the Same Proportions Have Differing Fire, Brilliance, and Scintillation?

Would you be so kind as to give me an opinion on this stone? I have used the Tables to try and ensure that not only is the cut rated Excellent but the angles, tables and depths are also good. Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry. I am happy to help. The diamond has been graded a triple excellent diamond by GIA. A team of highly trained Gemologists agreed that the angles/ proportions all fall within the range of Excellent. You can confidently purchase this diamond!

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks you so much for taking the time to reply, I have purchased the Diamond from Blue Nile. I was concerned to spend £9,230 on a stone without seeing it but i did a lot of research and thanks to your excellent website decided to go for it.

One last question if i may? Why do jewellers say that even though a diamond has Excellent cut, colour and clarity can it still be dull? Can two diamonds with the same proportions have differing the fire, brilliance, and scintillation?

Is there any chance that when this stone arrives it will have poor sparkle? Thank you again!

Hi, I am sure you will love the diamond when you receive it. To answer your question, if the diamonds have the same color, clarity and angles/ proportions and fluorescence isn't a factor, then technically they should provide comparable sparkle, brilliance and fire!
