Which would you say is the best value?
- 1.20 Carat D-SI2 Excellent Cut Round Diamond – $4,670
- 1.30 Carat G-SI2 Excellent Cut Round Diamond – $5,730
They are both off James Allens website. I spoke via chat with the rep and he said they are both inclusion free to the naked eye.
He said he would go with the 1.3CT because it will have better light and brilliance when compared to the 1.2CT one. Is it worth spending an extra $1,100 for the 1.3CT in this case?

Thank you for your inquiry in the comment section of the website. I thought it would be easier to respond through email.
In order to better answer your question, can you please provide the links or the SKU numbers to the two diamonds so I can look at the diamond and the grading reports? Thank you! |

Thanks for the reply, below are the two links. Just to provide some additional information. I chatted with one person first and he said both had no visible to the naked eye inclusions.
I logged back on later that day and chatted with another person and they said that both diamonds had a cloud in the middle of them that would be visible.
Not sure why the initial person didn’t mention that. However, below are the two links for you to view.
SKU-4420365 – 1.20 CARAT D-SI2 EXCELLENT CUT ROUND DIAMOND
SKU-3960179 – 1.30 CARAT G-SI2 EXCELLENT CUT ROUND DIAMOND
The second person I chatted with that mentioned the clouds in both diamonds also sent me the link below and said this would be the best value.
What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I am sorry for my delayed response. Things have been busy around here!
Okay, so, all three diamonds are eye-clean. The issue is, the cloud inclusion, can impede the diamonds ability to reflect light, making the diamond appear hazy. I would agree with JamesAllen, that out of the three diamonds, your best choice is diamond sku 4789038. And you can purchase this diamond with confidence. Diamond sku 4420365, has strong fluorescence, which can make a diamond appear dull and hazy. It will also glow blue under strong UV light. In addition, this diamond is graded by IGI and their standards are not as high as GIA and AGS grading standards. Diamond sku 3960179, says in the comment section, that clarity grade is based on the clouds that are not shown. This means that there are so many clouds that they didn’t bother to plot them! SKU-3960179 – 1.30 CARAT G-SI2 EXCELLENT CUT ROUND DIAMOND I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions! |

Thanks for getting back to me. What do you think of the below ring? Is this a good value?
SKU-5116990 – 1.24 CARAT H-VVS1 CUSHION MODIFIED CUT DIAMOND

Nice to hear from you again! The below cushion shaped diamond you selected from James Allen is beautiful. It is a “high” H color, meaning it reads closer to a G than an I color diamond.
The overall shape, faceting pattern and aesthetic is extremely pleasing and classic. It is a very lively diamond. Please let me know if you have additional questions! |

Out of the two below, which would you say is the best value/diamond to go with?
SKU-5391191 – 1.20 CARAT E-VS1 CUSHION MODIFIED CUT DIAMOND

It is nice to hear from you, again. The two cushion shaped diamonds you selected, below from James Allen are both an excellent choice. They are beautiful cushion shape diamonds.
And they are nearly identical for all intents and purposes. You can confidently select either one. If you twisted my arm to make a decision, I would go with the D color, since it is the best of the best in color. 🙂 |

Sebastian,
Both the below are now unavailable. I however, found a new one. Thoughts on this one? Seems like an excellent price, and kind of has me wary about the low price. What are your thoughts regarding the below diamond?
1.20 CARAT H-VS1 CUSHION MODIFIED CUT DIAMOND SKU-5683759

You selected another really pretty cushion shaped diamond. It is a high H color, meaning it is closer to a G color, than an I color diamond. The proportions are great and the ratio is classic! 🙂 |
