Diamond Query: Contrast of Yellow Gold Setting’s Diamonds to Pear-Shaped Center Diamond

Hi Sebastian, thanks for the advice and your amazing website. I followed your guidelines for a pear shaped diamond and chose this one:

1.01 CARAT I-VS1 PEAR SHAPE DIAMOND

1.01 CARAT I-VS1 PEAR SHAPE DIAMOND

which I’m pairing with this setting:

14K YELLOW GOLD PETITE PAVE ENGAGEMENT RING (FLUSH FIT)

14K YELLOW GOLD PETITE PAVE ENGAGEMENT RING (FLUSH FIT)

What are your thoughts? My only real concern is the diamond looking warm and possible contrast with the setting’s diamonds. What are your thoughts?

Everything I’ve said that I color diamonds work well with the yellow setting, but I would still appreciate your opinion on this particular set. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for your inquiry on the comment section of my website. I thought it would be easier to respond through email.

Evidently, you learned a lot from the information on my website, because you selected an excellent pear-shaped diamond. The diamond has minimal bowtie effect. And the overall proportions are aesthetic pleasing. This diamond will be beautifully showcased in the ring you selected.

I am not concerned about the color of the center diamond in comparison to the side diamonds. The yellow gold will help to offset that, also the diamonds on the ring shank are very small….the eye will not pick up on their color.
