Diamond Query: Which K-Colored Round Cut Diamond Faces Up Warmer?

| Anonymous Reader

Hi Sebastian, I wanted your opinion on this diamond. It is a faint brown K and I love the pink, but I ultimately want something classic. Will this diamond be white face up?

Would you recommend I get a yellow tone K instead if I want a classic warm tone diamond? I will have it set in a 14 karat six prong knife edge band. Thank you!

Thank you for your inquiry. I am happy to help. The diamond color grading scale is very subtle. My thought is that this diamond will appear white in the face-up position.

If, however, you put this diamond next to a D to H color diamond, for example, you will most likely see that this diamond has more warmth.

Most of its warmth, however, comes from the profile view of the diamond, which will not be easily seen once the diamond is set into the ring setting. I will say, this diamond is an excellent choice. It has super angles/ proportions. You can purchase this diamond with confidence.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions!

Thanks Sebastian,

Do you think this diamond:

Will appear lighter in the face up position than:

SKU-5407841 – 1.54 CARAT K-VS2 EXCELLENT CUT ROUND DIAMOND

They are both Ks but it appears as though the brown make it darker than the yellow. I’m in a bit of a panic because I think the faint brown has been purchased for me in the last 24 hours and I could have it swapped out before it ships if I am quick to act.

Which diamond would you pick between the two or is the difference between them negligible?

Thank you!

It is my thought that the 1.50ct may appear lighter in the face up position.

Both diamonds are an excellent choice, it just depends on which K color you prefer.  Personally, I would choose the 1.50ct. 🙂
