Diamond Query: Visibility of an Indented Natural in a 0.75 Carat G-SI1 True Hearts Diamond

| Anonymous Reader

Hi Sebastian,

Firstly, please allow me to thank you for your highly informative blog! It has definitely helped me in my search for that special diamond. I was wondering if you could provide me with your expert opinion regarding these 2 diamonds which I am considering:

1. Sku-3824017 – 0.81 CARAT F-SI1 TRUE HEARTS IDEAL DIAMOND

Sku-3824017 - 0.81 CARAT F-SI1 TRUE HEARTSTM IDEAL DIAMOND

Price = USD4,090

Remark: My concern is that there is a very obvious inclusion near the center of the table facet – would this inclusion be visible to the naked eye or would it be eye-clean?

2. Sku-3824043 – 0.75 CARAT G-SI1 TRUE HEARTS IDEAL DIAMOND

Sku-3824043 - 0.75 CARAT G-SI1 TRUE HEARTS IDEAL DIAMOND

Price = USD3,470

Remark: My concern with this diamond is that there is a pretty large inclusion near the center of the table facet – do you think this diamond is eye-clean? Also, the inclusion seems to be very near (or on) the surface of the diamond – would this potentially cause the diamond to be easily chipped?

Many thanks for any feedback you can provide!

Thank you for your inquiry. I am happy to help. And I am glad to hear that the information on my website is helpful. Thank you!

The two diamonds you selected, below, from JamesAllen.com are both an excellent choice. If I put both of these diamonds in front of you, in person, you would have a very difficult time telling them apart.

With that being said, however, you need to choose one. I would choose diamond sku 3824043. It is absolutely eye-clean. And there is not a durability issue.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions!

Thank you, Sebastian, for the quick reply – truly appreciate it! I have a follow-up question, if you don’t mind… For SKU 3824043, I notice the AGS Report mentions the diamond has an Indented Natural inclusion (please see screenshot below):

AGS Report

Can you tell me where is this Indented Natural inclusion located? Is this it (circled in red below)? Or is it located on the girdle?

Also, for the other diamond (SKU 3824017), do you think it is eye-clean as well? My better half seems to like the slightly bigger carat size (even though that is probably hardly perceptible!).

Thanks again for your kind assistance! ☺

The indented natural is near the girdle of the diamond. Diamond sku 3824017 is eye-clean, however, as you pointed out, the slightly larger carat weight will not be the least bit visible…compare the millimeter measurements.

Please let me know your additional questions. And let me know which one you decide on!
